The two-month trial of 8 people accused in the Baltimore City Detention Center corruption case ended with 3 acquittals and 5 guilty verdicts. In total, 40 people have been convicted (most of those charged plead guilty), including 24 correction officers at the jail.

In January, Horseshoe Casino’s revenue was $23.2 million, a slight improvement over December, but $8 million off of projects that had the new casino bringing in over $31 million a year. Less revenue continues to mean less Community Impact Funding, which is intended for public improvements in the neighborhoods impacted by the casino, and across the city.

A pedestrian was struck and killed on Belair Road last night in Northeast Baltimore. The 55-year-old man was hit while crossing the street. The driver stayed on the scene and is cooperating.
