In a new filing, prosecutors in State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby’s office warn that a source in the Baltimore Police Department is actively leaking information to the defense team for the six officers charged in the death of Freddie Gray. Mosby’s team says they’re especially alarmed because some of the information is totally untrue. The filing does not ID the leaked and/or false info. In recent weeks, the defense has filed complaints that Mosby’s office sat on important evidence, including a supposed history of Gray attempting to injure himself in custody.
Is there state money left over after Gov. Larry Hogan cancelled Baltimore’s Red Line project? A legislative analyst ballparks that there could be $200 million in unused funds. On hearing the estimate, several state lawmakers called for any leftover funds to be earmarked for projects in the city. Hogan’s administration says the estimate makes no sense, and that all funds saved by killing the Red Line have already been funneled into highway projects around the state.
Police announced August’s 12th homicide yesterday. 33-year-old Sheldon Eubanks was shot and killed in the Upton neighborhood of west Baltimore Monday night. Another man was wounded in the same shooting.

The cannons have been returned to Hampstead Hill in Patterson Park, after a year-long cleaning and restoration. The cannons, all over 200 years old, were mounted in the park in 1907, commemorating Baltimore’s defense in the war of 1812.
