Five men were stabbed in a fight at Jimmy’s Famous Seafood in southeast Baltimore around 1:30am. None of their injuries are life-threatening.
Former Hopkins neurosurgeon and current Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson claimed Wednesday that he was once held at gunpoint at a Popeye’s Chicken in Baltimore, but redirected the gunman’s focus to the cashier. Yesterday, Baltimore Police took to Twitter to say they couldn’t find a police report matching the incident. Carson should probably stop talking about guns.
A 26-year-old man was shot to death outside a carwash on North Ave. in west Baltimore yesterday afternoon. The carwash is positioned under a mural of Lady Justice painted in response to the Freddie Gray case and April’s unrest. They’ve been 11 homicides already in October, and 261 for the year.
Sarah’s Hope, the city’s largest homeless shelter focused on families, celebrated it’s grand reopening yesterday. With an $8 million renovation, the shelter is doubling its capacity and adding new facilities to improve its services for families.
University of Maryland football coach Randy Edsall is probably getting fired after tomorrow’s game against #1 Ohio State. The Terrapins are 2-3 this season, and Edsall is 22-33 in the fifth year of his tenure with the team.
