A new census estimate hints that Baltimore lost around 600 residents in 2014, despite efforts to grow the city’s population. After decades of declining numbers, Baltimore’s population has mostly stabilized in the last decade (bouncing around 622,000). Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake has vowed to try to bring 10,000 families to Baltimore in the near future.


Three were shot and wounded in the city in two separate incidences on Wednesday. Two men in their twenties were shot in the Brooklyn neighborhood of South Baltimore, and another 23-year-old man was shot in Southwest Baltimore.


A confusing formation used by the New England Patriots against the Ravens on a critical touchdown drive in this year’s playoffs will now be illegal.


A new study found that Baltimore is the unhealthiest area in the state (Montgomery County was the healthiest). The main reason? Poverty. The health factors examined had a strong connection with poverty rates (ex: teen pregnancy, smoking, access to exercise facilities).


While lawmakers figure out how to respond, alcohol distributors in Maryland have agreed to a voluntary ban on powdered alcohol.
